The famous ARDUAINE GARDENS

The property is within walking distance of ARDUAINE GARDENS famous for Rhododendrons and many other indigenous plants. Owned by the National Trust so free to members. A morning well spent.

BEAVERS YES BEAVERS

Not 30 mins away are the forests of Knapdale with its many lakes. A few years ago Scottish heritage re introducted several beaver which have settled very well and in fact they have reproduced. The walk through the forests are very enjoyable and you will see much evidence of their activities Damns and munched trees etc.

PUBS AND PLACES TO EAT

10 mins away by car heading south is Craobh Haven Marina. For people arriving with a boat this is the place to launch and then sail up to Arduaine to the mooring. For those people who wish food or a drink the marina has a super pub/restaurant called the Lord of the Isles.

A 10 minute walk away is the famous Loch Melfort House Hotel with its panoramic view down the Sound of Jura. They cater for both full dining and a Bistro in the Chart Room.

A few miles away on the Isle of Seil is a cute harbour side village known as Easdale which was once famous for slate quarrying. The Oyster Bar is a fantastic place to both eat and drink but over weekend, do book

Each Monday evening in there is a folk night at the Shower of Herrings Centre approx 15 mins away.  It is well worth a visit and you can enjoy the music whist eating should you wish.
